Sometimes these things hit us, in the middle of the night, from the various images and stories we've heard. This is my holiday offering. May you all have a wonderful Christmas and any other holiday that you celebrate at this time of year.

I saw a figure in the distance
holding fast to a cross... that he once bore

I couldn't quite make out his face,
But I saw the crown of thorns he wore

Kneeling there before the cross,
I saw his tears fall to the ground

I sensed his sadness, pain and loss
And yet... I sensed a love profound

He wept for all the human race;
Their hearts so filled with wretched sin...

And as I finally saw his face,
It said he'd die for us again.
