Times them be

Hennah sea

I go drink 'em up

By and by

Sometime my spirit go slow

And sometime

'e dey fly

Me wife

'e be beautiful

Beauty come Beauty go

Fruit go ripe 'e need time

Love must grow

Come harvest come happiness

Love dey deep

For my heart, work be hard-o

Sweat too much

Luck

No be cheap

My love 'e be rose garden sweet

I fit plant them roses for my land all over

But rose no be yam

Every day hunger tell me:

Rose no dey fit for eat

She be earth, I be rain

Thirst dey kill her

Land go dry

Two years now no be water

So I for go  na well fetch 'em

That is why

Two years I dey go for my way

My throat 'e go dry

Water I dey get I must keep for my hand palm

I go drink she go lose it

And sun burn hot for sky

Sun dey burn me

But me, I dey keep the water

Two years I go

For my way

Make I no lose 'em, Allah Almighty

Then I be back some day

Your bouquet of cross-cultural rhythms and perspectives blossoms beautifully with this poem.
