And this one is no different...LOL!
Probably a combination of philosophy/humor...ed

Just cause I write em’ doesn’t mean I understand em’…

(Jand this one is no differentJ)

Told this was a statement so profound,

Did not mean it as such, to me it didn’t sound,

But after re-reading it and thinking on my throne,

I thought a bit more while lying down, yes prone…J

Still it was to me an enigma,

Seems I am constantly saddled with this stigma,

Of not understanding what I say,

No matter how long I do lay,

Hell, I am not even sure I did use the right word,

Or do I ever make myself understood?

I write so often totally and completely absurd…J

Is this write any different?

I do write with little indifference,

To all that is said, but this time I am straddling the fence,

I have no idea if what I have written in past or future tense,

Is worth the ink I did or will use or the strokes of the pen therein…J

Ahem! If the fence upon which you sit is barbed wire... GET THE HELL OFF OF IT!

I once wished that you would have less self-doubt, Eddie, me love... but... it's part of who you are... as for being a "Potty Philosopher"... well, you know what they say: S**T or git off the pot!

As for understanding your work... Sigh... I think sometimes we are too close to our own work to see what might be there. That's why we put it out there and let other's have a whack at it. (grin)

You're amazingly honest and open... and, to me, you shine because of that. katy xox.

Mornin' Ed--what one doesn't understand, another does. Shucks, some folks even talk this way--no wonder we live in confusion. Ah, but then, how many have ever understood a philospher. Ever read the Bible? No matter how many times I read the stories and parables, there's always something new that grabs me and my insight grows daily. Keep the pen moving and the ink flowing . . . Love to you and Rufuz, b

I would have to say, as a rule, it takes me quite a while to understand how a poem relates to me. When I write, I am certain they have nothing to do with me. I think we all write things we don't understand...but perhaps, someone else will.
Take care,

You are what you are, Ed. Ours is not to understand, we just write. I don't get most of mine. But my mind is to small to be out on its own for long.

As I said may your pen never run out of ink. Sometimes I don't understand what I write either.

I second Brian's - Brilliant. You are quite the philosopher, old friend. Don't stop writing whatever your heart, soul, and mind tells you to write; and never put yourself down; but get off that damn fence, DW!

Brilliant! Whimsical and singsong. Very enjoyable.
