Zen and the Art of Meditation…

Don’t know much of the Zen religion,

I know that I like to read about it,

I can also speak of it a bit; yes I do tout,

So what I do know of it might just be considered a smidgen…

Meditation I do regularly, mainly to relax,

It centers me and allows me to see what I lack,

Though like physical exercise it does not, me, tax,

It even does help me to not fall through any mental cracks…

A calm does pervade my very being,

If you did know me in reality,

You would know I suffer from, at times, a nervous energy,

Meditation does for me what Valium does for its user,

It brings on an almost lethargic humor and Peace of mind,

That may not be right for all, but for me it was what I did seek,

A place for me to go, a happiness for me to find…

So if you are looking for a pleasurable change?

Or just to look at the world a bit brighter,

You might try meditation, though some may find it a bit strange,

I do find it to help me in my fight against being deranged…J

Oh, yes, Eddie M... this is not just good advice, it's written in a wonderfully inviting and charming way... I've often suggested meditation to Adam, to help calm the 'demons' and soothe his soul... I especially loved that 2nd verse, so personal, yet so accessible. Good stuff! Thanks, my friend... katy xox.
