Hall of Mirrors

~ Hall of Mirrors ~

a hall covered in mirrors
you pass each day
brief incomplete views
seeing yourself only one way

peering into mirrors
through the eyes of youth
wide eyed and innocent
reflects only truth

views dim with age
changing each time you pass
reflecting your illusion
differently as years amass

images caught for an instant
quickly they flee
as you turn to look
each reflecting a moment to see

passing the mirrors
fragmented images reflect
blending simultaneously
vignetts they collect

a kaleidoscope
of shadows and light
convoluting colors and shapes
a collage of life

Ah yes! It it is all perceptional illusion on the grandest of scales. Marvel at it. Think through it. And lastly. Give thanks and praise for it. You are such a marvelously talented poet. Jon Michael Willey
