My sister woke up this morning without her back pain, asked if I had borrowed it for a lay in but since I'm feeling great too, thought I would write a poem of celebration for no pain day

I woke up this morning and the pain was gone
Iím not sure who takes it
When it goes away like this
Surely it visits someone else
It canít just be out there floating around
Waiting to find me again
And yes I know it will
One day I will wake and find it with me once more
Dark and dreary
It weighs on me like a chunk of lead
This pain I am today without
But for now I wonít worry
About where it is and how it survives
Itís enough to know it is missing
And my day is full of light

Well expressed, Sue. Some say pain is like a friend, bad when present, good when gone. I'd say you've captured the feeling. It's great that you're feeling good today.
Best regards,

Just enjoy the day without it..I know by experience there aren't enough of these days to waste one.
I'm glad you are pain free..even if it is only short term.

Good poem and great for your sister that she is pain free. All she can do is just enjoy the day.

Thank God you have gotten some relief. A gnawing pain can certainly wear you down so any respite from it is a blessing.
