okay I'll admit it
I have a split personality
I'm a cynic to the core
sure there is nothing in life
that is what it seems to be
I scoff at marriage
and sneer at holidays
sure - I can be cold and often am
but the other side
the one I try to keep hidden
is romantic to the soul
this is the me that believes in love
the part of me that aches over injustice
I cry for the downtrodden
and wish for happiness for all children
christmas lights make me teary
and I believe in angels
I'm sorry for the confusion
but this is just me
I'm sure the world is going to hell in a handbasket
but I pray for a peaceful journey

I'm a cynic too, on many topics, but I still believe in angels - and in split personalities!

I sense no sides to you...only the one side that you have shown us here, and that is the best and only part of you I have ever or will ever admit to seeing...Ed

Sue you have a heat as big as Texas as the saying goes and I don't think too many of us are fooled by cynic side you profess to.

Hugs,

you sound well-balanced to me ... i like how you poetry sounds like you just letting your thoughts flow ... which they do, quite effectively ...

We all have two sides Sue and sometimes one wins and then the other one comes out. This makes you full circle. I agree with the last two lines 100%
