Ahhh, what a beautiful day
even though the forecast is for a high of only 28.
So with this winter chill froze solid in my mind,
Me thinks that I will catch up on some reading time.
Therefore, off to the sunroom I do go
With coffee and a book in tow.
Once there I realize this... though its only 28 outside
the sunroom with all its glass galore
makes it feel at least 80 degrees or more.
So there is left but one thing to do
and say this and hope that I do not embarrass you.
I simply set my coffee and book down
and let my robe drop gently to the ground.
Ahhh, now this has to be the life,
with good coffee, and a good book
and a pale winters skin that is whiter than white.
Nevertheless, this I do, and must confess,
me, in my mischievous way on this January day,
actually enjoyed my state of undress.
ahh but alas, and little did I know,
that the reading of the book and sipping of coffee so slow,
would somehow render my mind back to its pre-awakened state,
and ever so slow, it was back to sleep I would go.
For one hour...maybe two
oh sweet sleep did I...till my flesh was almost done,
for I never realized till the moving of the sun.
and with the soft shadows now creeping ever so slow,
I came to understand, and I say this that all should know…
Never ever, I repeat….never fall asleep in a sun filled room
Wearing nothing but a little ole book.
For it is like this, you see…
What was once lily white and pain free
Is now an angry and frightening red,
Oh burnt am I…
And downright fried.
Fried and red,
From the tip of my toes
To the top of my
