Dedicated to all that suffer, either physically, mentally or emotionally.

I saw a weary Being
Overcome with woe and strife
Tossed about erratically
By harsh winds of life

Battered yet tenacious
It struggled to survive
As life storms raged relentlessly
Predicting its demise

This life form seemed to say:

Blow harsh life winds, blow
Howl, if you must
Toss me about relentlessly
Be it fair or unjust

Yet, I will fight to survive
To strive and to persist
To embrace my unique birthright
Defending my right to exist

I hope others will be encouraged
To endure and appreciate
Life's journey of both joy and pain
Interspersed with love and hate

So blow, harsh life winds, blow
Howl, if you must
Yet I'm strengthened by sunny days
Of love, faith and trust

Dear Gwen,

I'm glad I found your den. This poem is wonderful! You have an easy rhythmic style that flows so easily when read. I loved the subject and the way in which it was handled. You have much talent! I will be reading more.

This is a beautiful work with an important point. No matter what harsh things happen in life, one should not let those things destroy you. The wise learn from adversity and grow wiser. Sometimes the harsh things are a blessing because, if we are ripe to
learn, they teach us so much and make us better.

This poem flows very well and has vivid images to support the message.

These words ring true for those who are physically handicapped and have only their minds that are still active. A friend of mine is completely paralyzed but he is the most cheerful person I know. A victim of MS for the last 25 years.
