The sorrows that visit from
yesterday’s tears, shall be
washed away by the rains of now...
For the sun always shines
after the sadness -
and beneath, a melancholy
heart remains.
Scars left, but healed, from
the memory of you.
Every now and then I
will stand and watch through
my window, as the grains
of time’s sands drop,
moment to moment;
longing touched longing,
and fear triggered the response
of denying the existence of being.
No trial, no knowledge;
no reason - but a decision
made in ignorance.
To throw away life’s lessons
as though they were useless
and intemperate experiences to
be scorned in a sea
of self-pity and judgement,
‘tis a pity that appreciation has fled.
A world where all colour fades
to gray, and the beginning
of a new day goes unheeded;
not needed, for the ego fills all desire;
while Love with her wings,
flies higher and higher out of reach -
and from yesterday’s tears comes
the longing of a Love unfulfilled,
her lessons forfeited because
a soul is unwilling to learn.
