Transcendental Sonnet #1265:
Two Sides of a Single Coin
Love and Hate
Angels above and devils below
See what mortals always learn too late
They have always known will always know
How fine the line between love and hate
How thin the tissue which comes between
Hate which is and love which might have been
Two sides of a single coin they see
While all our life is consumed by one
At a time between us you and me
Husband and wife or love just begun
The tissue is very fragile where
Our hearts are held in each other's hands
Rare is the mortal who understands
Where two are one both love and hate lie there
