This poem aptly warns of the ensnarements lurking along that road without losing sight of the self-fulfillment that awaits one at the journey's end. You've captured the soul's longing, Regis; the quest for one's true self and unique destiny. Well done. |

Regis, as you know I am new to AD and don't know anyone here, their immediate backgrounds, their styles of writing, their histories... But two things struck me after reading *Destiny.* (1) You are loved by the people who populate Authors Den. To be so universally admired can only mean there's a good man behind the words. (2) After reading this piece (along with several others of your's) I can see the good man/heart for myself.
*Destiny* flows smoothly off my tongue when reading it aloud. For me, that's an important aspect in reading poetry. How a piece is read lends to the atmosphere of the story behind the words.
Your words evoked imagery and I could see that sharp distant peak, your goal, with my mind's eye. By the time I reached the last words, I realized that we've shared the same destiny a time or two even if at different times in our lives. *Destiny* truly resonated.
edit: I love the picture that accompanies the poem. Very cool. |

And I shall melt into you
Like a snowflake in the sea
For you are
My destiny
Regis, perhaps you feel as I do- amazed at what appears in our own hearts when we just attempt to touch love.
I never feel like I can really take credit for what comes, I just try to catch it.
With the above lines I hope you don't mind my saying I just felt like it was a toss up as to which one of us would find them first.
It is so what I feel, but you got those lines this time.
Good catch.

Dear Regis,
A superb write! Your second stanza is so full of lifes truths, showing how easy it is to become distracted, (I daresay though, when committment is not sincere) the flow into the last stanza is so encouraging, and heartfelt, knowing that with perserverance, love can be, not only achieved, but felt, held, mutually enjoyed and respected.
A very wise and touching poem Regis :)

Perfection: unique and deftly crafted - just love the "hook" at the end. Mystical, "out there", but deep "in here" as well. Graphic fascinating and the defining complement. Totally knock out, Champ!!
