Our roof leaks.
Our rent's unpaid.
We often leave
Our beds unmade.
My little girl asks,
What is wrong?"
It's getting hard
To play along.

We have a puddle

On the floor,

From thirty feet of snow

Or more.

What is life worth living for?

But she is fine

And there is hope.

I see gifts,

Forget to mope.

Succinct but powerful in emotions and meaning expressed. I love the way you end on a hopeful not. Best wishes of love, peace and strength to you, Sara. Regis

Dear Apostrophe Fanatic,

I'm glad you're an apostrophe fanatic. I didn't expect anyone here while creating this poem but here you are. Thank heavens -- I hate being ungrammatical even in the worst situations. Now to go mop-up our floor again.

Thanks, Sal,
Sara

Oh dear. I hope this is poetic licence? Whether or no, kill the apostrophe in bed's...

Yours, the apostrophe fanatic...
