Fight what pretends to be God, so He can work in our world.

The Curse of Can't

I awoke at four I could not keep
The promise to lie in torpid sleep
But chose to face the day in a different way

Rising from my turmoiled bed
Remnants of night battles in my head
I chose to go outside instead.

I went to the garden cracked and dry
Many a cloud had passed it by
Leaving the plants to wither and die.

In my mind I wondered why
God would choose to be so wry
As to never let the heavens cry?

Or was this the plan of God indeed
Or some pretender who had decreed
He'd deprive all life of its need?

Then when life was broken and bent
The pretender's miracles would be sent
To restore life to all who would repent

And pledge undying loyalty.
He'd lift the Curse of Can't decree
From all who'd follow on bended knee.

Then anger rose within my soul
As I began to see this wasn't God's goal
But an imposter's who God's power stole.

And as I comprehended the strife
This posturing phony's horrendous knife
Had inflicted on all life

The anger of all life arose
As one and all began to oppose
The Curse of Can't in which we'd been froze.

As this anger grew and spread
Life no longer wished itself dead
But wanted to participate instead.

Then the rain began to fall
Beckoning one and all
To learn life's lessons and answer the call

Of the wisdom they had known.
As waters cleansed the earth and stone
Of the "can't" that deadened Earth's tone.

So let this be a lesson to one and all
If we want to prevent Earth's fall
We must have the guts and gall

To fight the "can't" the pretenders bring
So life can participate and sing
And find the truth on everything.

And see through those who form and fashion
"Miracles" they misuse and ration
To deny life its true passion.

Then "miracles" will come to be
Natural life and we will see
The impossible become possibility.

This is a really wonderful write and I wondered if my eyes were playing tricks on me because as I went through the poetry I could have sworn this title changed three times. But this is so good to read because of the fact we may not get to church tomorrow.
