| Good poem and even better picture! Imagery and lyricism were also good! Your ending is too shocking for me, though, as a guy, well, you know how succubi are! Sort of reminds me of that long line scene within the movie, Airport, aboard the plane to silence or quiet the hysterical stewardess! Take a number or be first in line! |

Paul...this is outstanding! Much closer to the legends of the succubi then my work, Cravings, which is based on that subject as well.
You have blended perfectly the eroticism and spine chilling aspects of the legend...and added a bit of payback...well done! |

The tale of SUCCUBUS/INCUBUS saved many people from the guillotine, GAS-CHAMBER and CASTRATION.
This composition, "Succubus" takes my mind to twenty-five centuries of thrillers and mysteries... I enjoyed the contents and the reading of "Succubus".
Healthy Life, Poet!

Dear Paul,
You mentioned that I had not responded to this poem. I had read it but it disturbed me so deeply I could not respond. You write superbly well (too well maybe) and it brought it all too much to life for me. The concept of a 'succubus' entity is a frightening one.
Love Chanti (Now you know I read it. Am I a baby or what?) |

| Is Andy out to rattle my bars on your pages, or what??!! I hope he's not talking about me!! Woah, scary lady!! This is excellently penned, Paul, and is a taste of real "Goth": your diction and tone are brilliant. Even the "twist" is pure Jekyll and Hyde. I am impressed by your restraint; for the subject matter, I am sure many of us would have been tempted to "pad out" the obvious tale in this, but you have kept it delightfully "clean" (??!!) with just the telling detail that makes it muscular. Can just feel the "cold, hard kiss" with this one - metaphorically speaking! AND you manage to maintain your poetic tone! Very well done, TY Kate xx |
