a bird flys...

sweet bird of paradise sings
a beautiful verse of earth

a bird flew across our yard
leaving behind lovers verse
she whispered to the trees
so they would listen to her

Please don't fly away, the trees cried
leave us with a song
she sang sweetly to the breeze
a lullaby for earths babies

An innocence comes over me
and I forget the ugly truth
of money and greed
of hunger and poverty

She forgives us, the mother earth
and the child of God is golden
born to man to know his pain
of temptation and suffering

The son of man is beautiful
in his truth and consequential
in his judgment
a bright light shines in heaven

a bird flew across our yard

Love is in his heart
the joy of flying
and singing to the trees
they know no misery

a bird flys…

Birds truly are wise creatures - and this is a marvelous poem, Dale.

This is one that should be read over and over again and like Mari says because it is so beautiful.

Sometimes that happens to me. I'll be sad, worried, angry, stressed, whatever... and then I'll look up and see something in Nature that is so beautiful I am taken away. The bird in *A Bird Flys* reminds me of those times.
