CHARISMA

Charisma can't be bought, earned or learned;
cannot be loaned or borrowed;
if you've got it, it's yours for keeps
and you can't even GIVE it away!

Charisma is more desirable than vast wealth
and more pleasing than fine art;
it does not fade with the passing of time,
and can even open wide the doors
that are locked to success and beauty.

Pure and simple, it's a gift...

And anyone can have it - my friend does:
Just last week, we took a stroll,
promenading Millionaire's Row
at Sandbanks in Poole Harbour;
honey-blonde, sleek and finely toned,
she turned heads and elicited greetings
from all who wanted contact.
I was the one proud to be
walking by her side, vicariously sharing
in her attention - Yeah, Baby!

Charisma: Don't underestimate its power!
I have never seen so many heads turn,
Mexican Wave,
as did that day at Cafe Shore
when, table-by-table, they sought
to gaze upon The Gifted...

And she's not A-Listed, well-heeled
or even... well - human!

It's only because she looks like Buddha...what a face! These dogs are the most loyal and loving on earth. 'Charisma' means 'gift', so she is aptly named...lovely poem, Kate.

Kate,

Charisma has it in spades--what an adorable pic!

And what a proud write--I, too, would be honored to be in her presence. :) An excellent dedication to your baby.

Give her a (((HUG))) from me, and (((HUGS))) and love to you, too--Karla. :)

Kate that is one beautiful dog.I hesitated over the word dog;-)lol because she's so lovely...hahaha anyway I wonder if your charisma wore off on her or was it a mutual exchange;-) Whichever, the poetry is a creative delight! Thank you! etw

Au Contraire, mon ami (the extent of my French! ha!) oh, wait... there's oui. And oui is only the beginning for this far more than cool piece, Ms. Kate. Some drip jewels (ICK!) while others have perfume leaking from every pore (double ICK!) but YOU: Charisma-drenched woman that you are! Oh, yes... I know these things.

The picture is of a grand dame, indeed. It has been my pleasure to read as well as look at this page. You are both mah-ve-lous, within AND without! katy xox

Some people exude it as you do in your lovely and delightful poems. Never saw an animal that didn't posses it and the dog in your pic melts me to my heart, with it.

I want to jump inside the picture and let her nuzzle my face...but Willoughby might get a little jealous. This is a fun poem about my second favorite species.

Just looking at her picture, I can tell Charisma eeks from her very essence - and it's probably why I love nonhuman creatures so much - many of them truly have it - and they don't let it go to their egomaniacal heads - like so many humans do!
