I wrote this after watching a tv program on survival in the jungle. The animals really have to struggle to survive, so do some of the people.

Hell's not so bad,
considering we have
to pass through earth.
If there's a worse stop,
forget dropping me off.
This place is enough,
don't need anything worse.

I'm sure the animals in
the jungle would agree,
especially after their
hunger and thirst spree.
Then again they can't talk,
it's hard enough for them too balk.

Some of the natives of Africa,
starving and dying of thirst,
meet their hell here on earth,
seems to be part of their birth.
We American's are so lucky,
we all have a rubber ducky.

Either way,
coming or going,
no one can control
the wind blowing.
Tsunami was off the hook,
not even room for it in a book.
Terror rules most dominating,
hardly nowhere discriminating.

Maybe we're already in hell,
just don't remember when we fell.
We may have hit the ground so hard,
it jolted our memory apart.
After we jumped to our feet,
nothing was on the mind
but something to eat.

G

If you are looking for paradise on earth then you've come to the wrong place. So cheer up the story isn't over yet:) And who knows the starving in Africa aren't half as unlucky as the pot-bellied might think?

Nice job. I guess the message here is that hell is created by us, not by any god or demon. WE control what happens here on earth and unfortunately, some of us make it hell for others. Sad.

Reminds me of a saying, I learned years ago in AA. "Religion is for people scared of going to hell, while spirituality is for people who've been in hell." I just want to survive... good write...
