Kansas City Crawl

For the past three years, we've had ice storms or snow for our Blues Society Mardi Gras Pub Crawl here in KC. Tonight is no exception, with 4--8 inches of snow predicted. Bummer!

Kansas City Crawl

all aboard buses leaving each seat
filled with raucous cussedness
no beer allowed now dump it out
and shake your booty on board
next stop ten minutes timed
by jesters dressed in handsome hose
floppy hats gentle voices
seek slithery fishnets capturing
music by the note
struggling for Zydeco bastards
free of inhibitions freely
slacking the night away
belching deep-seated frustrations
stuck in doorways no more
just jimmying jazz melting barbecue
quivering with thirst
for the blues.

"Mardi Gras!" Rings a bell from my French heritage. Nicely done, Larry. Love and peace. Regis

They do it a little different and my brother lived there until his death. But this is interesting and I guess that snowstorm will come our way. We had highs of 65. Take care.

Larry,

They celebrate Mardi Gras in Kansas City?? KEWL!

Nothing like a N'Awlins one, though--though you gotta be careful, they're CRAZY in N'Awlins. I enjoyed Mardi Gras in Hammond and in Lafayette. :)

A colorful write you've penned--stimulates all the senses and gets your feet to moving--thanks :)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Snow...if you don't want it, send it here--I'd LOVE to see it!
