Whispers
by Robert Gallinger

"Whispers" is an absorbing story about a soldier who discovers that different people judge different people differently, much the same as they do love and hate. ..

Light filters through darkness
Dawn awakens from sleep
Passion hidden inside
Cloaked in fear of knowledge|
Stirs with a flutter

Eyes close to shut out the light
Bringing back darkness
A protective blanket
To still the heart

ah, but john, it is simply a cover when retreating to the darkness, the pain still exists...

battle the darkness in everyone, remove it, and pain would be erased

why many who are dedicated to the light have hearts that feel so much they can't take it and turn to alcohol or drugs...it is the only way they can temporarily hide in the darkness and not feel the pain

wonderful write, Sherry! Short and yet so much meaning, truth and insight packed into it.

Sometimes, I welcome darkness much in the way you have portrayed it in your verses here, Sherry. Thank you. Love and peace to you. Regis

Sherry,

Comforting! I'm not too fond of the dark, but will think of this serene write the next time it storms at night. :) Thank you for this beautiful write.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

That's a nice way to see darkness, as a protective blanket.

Very nice

Sometimes this is how I feel upon wakening. I remember and it's hard to remember sometimes, so I just want to close my eyes and return to slumber. Thing is, there are the dreams...
