"The mission of theatre, after all, is to change, to raise the consciousness of people to their human possibilities..."

I write to cast a light
on the architects of the American Dream
I grab them by the neck
shake the injustice out of their thick, capitalistic skulls
I live in an occupied country
You won't find me testifying
against my collegues
The critics are as blind as McCarthy
Yesterday I was the greatest living playwright
Today I'm a "has-been"
My plays are poetry
You have no souls, no respect
for the struggle for liberty
Tell me, just what was the price for your conscience?

Excellent Linda...I'm glad you sought to regocognise this man and his wonderful work, he opened the eyes and ears of many...just a shame that there are those who refuse to listen or see.
Thank you for reviewing my work.
