Cliff dive into this and I'm treading
the very water I swallow, I'm dreading
the inevitable trip to the murk
yet I'm willing to do the work
to keep myself afloat for a time
and perchance regard the sublime
with an off-handed nod
and a bow to our god
where I hope to touch a place
that hasn't fallen from grace
and I can see through the veil
and the purest visions prevail
arms deep in your forboding
that you use to keep eroding
my sense of the divine
while devouring my time
where the drowning has come at last
the breakers dispelling my past
to be picked and sampled by birds
and my legacy - naught but words

Do you like the word beautiful? I'm going to give it to you...it's beautiful and compelling, worth every word and it's going in my library! I loved it.
