I wrote this on Valentine's Day for someone special:)

I never thought
of love,
chasing the tails
of yesterday's demons.

I never dreamt
of love,
unable to recognize
the rising of the sun.

I never heard
of love,
listening to a song
that skipped in my heart.

I never saw
rose petals on
my closed eyes.

I never tasted
bitter, so much
easier to swallow.

I never felt
unfamiliar with
such gentle hands.

I never trusted
walls can guard
the tender spots.

I never knew
I loved you
I knew you.
