......

There is a lump in my throat today

I cannot account for, nor understand

From whence it came, only that it

Lingers there, a taste like diluted

Saltwater that seems to block much

More than my ability to explain its

Source, it seeks to somehow release me,

Blurring my vision in an effort to escape

This inarticulate lack of self-expression

By way of bitter teardrops that flow

Unseen, face cupped in trembling hands

As I give a desperate prayer that says much

More than the sum of its words, complex

In its simplicity, powerful in its sincerity,

Three short words my only salvation now

That I have learned how to say them and

Have started to listen once that prayer has

Passed my lips…

God help me.

END

You got me smiling! Very good... nothing more powerful then "I"... it comes from the soul...

George I'm so happy to see you know the key is in the listening once the words have been said. Sometimes only one word is enough, for the spirit has already gone before you with your needs. You are stronger than you realize to be able to write like this.It is the prompting of the Holy Spirit you are following, so you are in good hands;-)

These are the only words that matter sometimes... powerful, George, as always... funny thing is, these moments, for me anyway, tend to flee away in as mysterious a manner as they come - so guess prayer is every bit as powerful as we might hope for! Trust that your experience is somewhat the same... grace for the moment is what keeps the wheels moving forward. TY and bless you, Kate xx

Yes this one does reach out and get you. Learning the words of any prayer is really very good.
