Just read this myself, and I think many of the us feel this way, especially when trying to reach the younger ones.

Forgive us
You, the young,
Novices in life,
For our nostalgia.
Chide not.
We've collected more
Than you -
Lived longer
Encrusting
Evaluating.
To place in rank
In order -
To adjust to
To assimilate.
Our evolution
Is happening.
Be patient with us.
God willing,
You may live
So long
So thoughtfully
So poignantly
And empathize
After we've gone.

Dear Katie, I love it! Since I am elderly and still writing, I appreciate what oter older persons have written. It's plain your mother put her thoughts on paper in an understanding, and thought provoking fashion. It's so sweet of you to get her work published, and I'm sure she's watching you and enjoying it. Thanks so much for sharing. Emma L. Willey, Prairie Rattlers, Long Johns and Chokecherry Wine, Memoirs of the Silent Prairie

Hi Katie:

This one of your mother's is EXCELLENT. Just put a smile on my face because it is so wittingly carried out. Your mother sure had a sense of humour. I just love reading her work.

Sad to say I understand this! LOL
The conciseness makes its point. Computers and technology did it for me! hahaha
