In the quiet
the clock’s melody
singing it’s a quarter past
three.
My heart is bleeding
love blues.
You and I are too far apart.
I need to find you wherever
I go.
Are you on the bus corner
right behind the bench?
Are you tucked away
like the sun hiding beneath
the lazy rising full moon?
Are you a silent detective
watching me laugh at David
Chappelle's videos tonight?

In the quiet
the hurt of my heart
is singing
a sad
ness
that won’t go away

I am in the midst of
tears that threaten to
break my
so
ul
baby, I miss you

in the crev
ice
of everything sane

in the break
fast
while I munch on
steamy oatmeal with
fresh cut granny apples

your spirit
is beau
ty
