Thank you, Jerry Bolton, for inspiring this; in your review of "For Lisa and Jayden Underwood's Killer," you said that he is us...and this came to mind with the force of a Louisiana hurricane.
God have mercy on us all. :-(

"HE IS US" (Inspired by Jerry Bolton) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He is us The miscreants of society Regurgitating their madness Onto the rest of us
He is us The neighbor who lives next to us The best friend that we thought we knew Horribly, we are wrong
He is us The child molester, the murderer Living in convincing disguise It couldn't have been him
He is us Sitting comfortably on high benches Above shark infested waters And baits us on his lies
He is us Screaming from a fraudulent pulpit While evicting God from the Church And from our memories
He is us Spreading poverty while he grows fat Bloated and showing no remorse From offices on high
He is us Escalating us on downward paths The crazy pilot at the helm Of our own destruction
HE IS US

Karla, Jerry is one of the most inspiring people I know, so it came as no surprize when I read his comments on your last post that you would elaborate on his words.
You've brought much to mind here, and hopefully none of us will ever forget it.
Great write..now go and have some fun!

Karla I really did enjoy this poem, because it is so true. I have at one time or another run into some of the types of people you mention in this poem, especially the deceiving neighbor, criminal, and the priest who thinks he is above everyone else, while disbelieving what he preaches. If only the types of people you mention here, would truly seek the help of God, through His Son Jesus. May the Lord be with you, and always at your side. With much love, peace, & (((HUGS))), your very dear friend and sister in Christ our Lord, from wisconsin,
Barbara Lynn Terry

| WOW!!!! HOW ABSOLUTELY KNOCK-OUT IS THIS, KARLA!!??? Right on the button and explosive in it's impact: one of your absolute best, I would say and HOW TRUE!! Yeah, walk a mile in someone else's shoes, and then see how you might judge yourself. I know how close I have come to battering when my own babies wouldn't stop crying... there but for the grace of God... but, on the other hand, there is accident and misadventure and there is cold-blooded intent and calculation... two different things. EXCELLENT - am keeping for sure!! Last stanza scintillating. You bring good out of evil here! TY LOL Kate xxx how many days to go??!! :))) |
