I have a little friend

Her name is Tabitha

And when I gently pet her

She will loudly purr

Her eyes are dark and thoughtful

Brown like a chocolate bar

Her fur a just as brown

Without a single mar

When I knock upon her door

She comes out of hiding

Runs across the floor

Sometimes even sliding

Sitting at my feet

She softly starts to whine

Until I pull the chair out

That sits right next to mine

When there is enough room

She jumps up to the table

To put herself close enough

To make sure I am able

To cuddle her close in my arms

Where she finds her ecstasy

As I gently hug her

And pet her gently

She loves for me to pet her

When I rub her with my hand

She licks me with her tongue

That feels a lot like sand

She is a very special friend

Who brings joy to my heart

And I will love her always

Even though we had to part

For she stayed with her owner

Way down south when I moved north

But I still get to see her

When I go back and forth

Yes, I really miss my little friend

With fur and big brown eyes

And when I go to visit her

My time with her just flies.

Apparently, pet are hugely therapeutic. They're great friends, aren't they. This is lovely, Bobbi. Love and peace. Regis
