A Thousand Loves I fell in love with a brown eyed girl Whose lips were ruby red. The prettiest girl in the whole wide world, So everybody said. I fell in love with brainy lass As smart as she could be. Number one in her college class, And she outsmarted me. I’ve been in love a thousand times And every love was true . I’ve been in love a thousand times. And every time was you. I fell in love with a sporting guy The captain of his team. A macho man with a twinkling eye A dreamer of big dreams. I fell in love with a gentle man As tender as a man can be. The kind who gives a helping hand And he gave his name to me. I’ve been in love a thousand times And every love was true .
