Prophet, Priest and King: A novel of King Solomon by John Ho
by John Howard Reid

King Solomon is often equated with wisdom, but, out of kilter with popular belief, the Bible does not always portray him as wise and good. Quite the contrary!..

Learning to look

Observation
by Henry Burt Stevens
9/5/2003

When a child I
often lay face
down in grass
staring deeply
at what was there.

Looking carefully as
grass blades
emerged from dirt.

Little bugs would
sometimes enter then
wander out of sight.

Later, rolling over
I would watch
clouds, until standing
up to see
fields and trees.

From very small
and close
to far and very large
I learned about
observing all about me

This really tickles the imagination. I think that's why Kids movies such as "A bugs life" Honey I shrunk the kids, Antz, appeal so much, because you get insight into whats under the blades.

Loved this Henry

Learning to Look is truly a marvelous lesson well learned, Henry; we should all try it more often.
