Dreaming again...

For something is amiss or out of place! When mice with wings can wear a human face...Theodore Roethke "the bat"

A Taste for Blood…

Mine or others,

It matters not,

Blood tastes the same,

Drink it from a bottle while watching a game…

Sold over the counter,

Not needed is a prescription,

The older like wine,

It does ferment, so even blood from an Egyptian,

Can taste so deliciously fine…

The further south one does go,

The thinner the blood does get,

Must have to do with the temperature,

When the northern wind does blow,

The thicker the blood does inherently flow,

Making it taste of a syrupy nature,

The taste does then linger on the tongue with rapture…

Where does one suppose this taste I did get?

Inherited from eons of vampires I do bet,

Skips generations ten fold,

To fall to me to continue the blood line,

Before I to, like my ancestors afore me,

Do break down into a caustic mold…

Dear Ed,
I'd love to know what inspires you to write something like this. Do you feel like someone is sucking your blood? Is their an emotional vampire in your life right now? I am speculating because as always you've penned a humorous, tongue-in-cheek piece that has made more than one laugh (albeit a bit nervously lol)
Take care friend. Wishing you peace and happiness.
