Wild Flowers

I love the recent storms,
Crashing all around me,
Bringing life once more,
To this forgotten land…

My garden grows wild and fierce,
No neat rows strict lines of budding beauty for me!
I love the wild abandon with which they grow!

Weeds and wild flowers competing,
There is beauty in freedom,
In unrestricted lines,
In Spring forgiven of harsh summers-

Long dormant passions of life,
Awaken in me,
As I see them struggling to remain free,
Carve out a piece of the land,
And dwell in sweet harmony…

Their scents fill the air,
With sage and lavender,
Sweet air that enters my heart,
With its passion for life…

I feel alive here,
I will not pluck them,
And place them in a glass jar,
They belong here.

So do I.

There is something amazing about seeing wild flowers growing free. The only groomer is God, the sun, the rain, and the moon. Their beauty brings so much to our lives.

This poem is so full of wonderful energy! Perhaps you are a "nature spirit" Reindeer. Your writings often celebrate the fertile greenery of earth and such, even the dark secret places of the forest! I enjoyed.

Have often wondered why do we demonise weeds. Some are so pretty.

This poem is "sweet air" to our souls. You are a true "wildflower", and this reminds me of Dolly Parton's song of the same name. Most wildflowers do not survive long in a vase or captivity, so keep blooming where you are planted Retta...
