Anal Retentive

who knew, then, that withholding
might, could, become a personality
type, complete with such groaning after
release?

marked by pain, squirming with
each session,
such logic befuddles most,
hardening the virtues,
smoothing the paths,
forcing projects
till they finished
like spent bullets
littering the floor.

only Cadillacs might serve
for deliveries, accented fins,
not exactly dorsal, more like
a flute-a-phone, vastly
overrated both in sound
effects and combustion.
