A while back, I wrote a poem called "Blinders He Wears"…describing the foolishness of a man to leave his family for the passion of one much younger. What I did not say, was that this man is within the unit of my extended family and is now in harms way…He is stranded somewhere in China…with no way out…so hence my attempt at poetry tonight in "Danger Lurks" Somehow, though…I did not feel very poetic about this.

Danger Lurks

There was a man who once loved his family, who cared for his very own,

However, one day temptation came calling with its lure of passion promised.

Thus sending him on a journey far away and alone…

However, as fate would have it and as blind justice has its special way,

Bringing here unto a sorrowful quandary, which has captured the joy from his day.

For he is an old man ensnared by the wiles of a young woman

Who by the stroking of his fragile ego usurped a family on whole

bringing forth with it countless days and innumerable nights of sorrow.

Yet now as I pen these words…more trouble has come his way,

For he has lost himself in this foreign and strange world, and will…

unless there is help from someone somewhere…it is there he will stay.

Therefore enter I…

for this question was brought to me this day.

I was asked of a journey to partake…

A journey to this ancient and far away land…

a journey to rescue…to retrieve…to save this man.

I consider this out of love,

I reject it out of fear,

Yet I am so confused

For it has brought many that are close to me…

To heartache and tears.

So if one day soon,

When you look at the setting moon

and you know that I am not here…

Think of me, and pray for my way…

That it will be free of obstacles

and that I did indeed save the day.

What a position to be placed in Allen. You are indeed in my prayers and I will be looking forward to your triumphant return. You are brave to undertake this journey - this mission of selfless love. It is clear that this man made a dreadful mistake but love makes fools of even the best of men (and women). You said that you did not feel very poetic about this and yet you have managed to pen a great poem. Best to you...

Interesting thoughts...I have a friend who gave up his family and friends to live with his new wife, but only in Florida, not far away as this relative of yours has chosen. But to just never have anything to do with his family, being one without such, seems to me to be insanity at its lowest form...Ed

I will no fears of that ok?.. This is true poetry truly from your heart, I know you only live by your heart. You always place the shoe on the other foot. I'm sure I can speak for more than myself when I say you'll have a circle of hands joined together around you all the way and always, everyday. But go with your Gut Instincts on this one. They, I've found out speak loud and true. If you don't today there is a reason when another day will arise free of fear and hesitations and you'll feel that. Even if it's in the middle of your day at work or whatever when I'm in a questioning situation, I don't consume myself with the thoughts about it, I try to 'ignore' it place other thoughts and get on w/ my day so my mind doesn't boggle up, confusing itself, so then ifn I get that feeling, I drop what I'm doing I say I have to go now! and then I run with it. make sense? It's 99.9% on target.
I'm no help at all am I? sorry. my feelings go w/ the the gut! NO guilt!!. ok?? If you're not comfortable through and through, don't go. And no fears of where we are - We're with you. We love you.
