Raise Your Middle Finger

"Raise your middle finger and say FUCK YOU to these / Purveyors of doom and dysfunction and disease / I'm as good as anybody and so are you"

Raise Your Middle Finger

for my kids of all ages everywhere

Looking back from fifty I'll save you some trouble

Just tell you straight up and burst another bubble

I want you to know an essential paradox

By which selfish people try to keep you in a box

In my experience I've found it to be true

That whenever anybody looks down on you

That person is not worth giving a second thought

And it's sad but true that people like that have brought

Most of all the misery we suffer down here

In a world manipulated by pain and fear

Raise your middle finger and say FUCK YOU to these

Purveyors of doom and dysfunction and disease

I'm as good as anybody and so are you

In my retrospective view monkeys in the zoo

Have been much better people than judgmental dudes

Looking down long noses with shortsighted attitudes

And both the dudes and their 'tudes could use a swift kick

Right in their fancy asses having made us all sick

But you and I will live well and we'll laugh best and last

And we'll leave their narrowminded natterings in the past

So the next time one of these losers tries to put you down

Remember: foot to ass finger to face  ...and smile to frown

Steven, I suppose that now I can say "Congratulations on the death of Silke," which would have sounded weird just a month ago. If you need anyone to pen (or help pen) your story "Night of The Thousand Days," give me a shout. -- Jeff

Stevie, I was there....10 years ago...in an internet rerlationship that rocked my whole world. I am writing a book about it; it is so incredible that it reads like fiction. I understand it all.

When someone shoots me the bird, I shoot back with the two finger peace sign, they have no idea how to handle that...gets them even madder, LOL! Ed ;)

Why waste the energy of raising the finger to 'em? Saying it is faster and the spoken word's more powerful. LOL However, a friend of mine had a better idea, say, "I love you too." and blow 'em a kiss. I know, I know. I only take her advice half the time. ;-) Oh, go read my blogs, Steve. Now, I know how to rant! If you see how much screaming I've done, you won't apologize for too much more. :-D

sometimes that is all it takes. some people aren't worth it, and i don't let people push me around. if they make me mad sometimes i'll do this myself; not the best way to tell someone how you feel, but it sure makes ME feel better! LOL well done!

LOL
bravo!
Cannot let your spirit be broken by negative voices, who probably dislike themselves, thats why they cannot be positive and need to, or hope to, make others feel so low that they can feel power
(I have had too many in my life like that.....they make me cringe, so now I just ignore them)

So many in this world like that - such a shame!

Good for you Steven! lol

a poetic roar!
