Where are you, my love…
I hear your whispers, so tantalizing
So fragile…a soft caress, a drifting breeze
Touching my face, lifting my tears on wings
Of hope…
It is all I have left now…all you have given me
For all of the years I have offered my heart,
Offered my soul, my direction….to you…
Beyond those years, beyond threads of lingering memories,
I bury myself in the scent of pain, I invoke the words
Last spoken…to crush all desire to reach out to you,
In hope….
But the truth is…the truth, the horrible truth
Is that you suddenly seem so much closer
When my heart is aching so, when my veins quiver
As they are quivering now…as if they could wrap themselves
Around you and never let you go…
Oh…
