not going anywhere I think...not sure.

The Broken Shards Of Time

I listened for your voice from above a rushing wind,

as I sought of your presence amidst these broken shards of time.

Never, oh never did I realize or completely understand the coming of this end.

For I have always sought shelter in you from my hearts uncertainty's.

So, don't you see now how much I long for you and need to hold you close?

Cannot you understand it is you in this life, which means the most?

For our years together have been quick and our times collectively few.

Yet, I can only wish, I can only dream that time be ours to choose.

I am desirous of our days of past,

When our life was more simple, and our time seemed to last.

I want us to travel there once more,

To laze in the summer haze,

upon our golden shore.

Ah, but to just sit and count the gulls in flight,

To laugh at the setting sun and happily greet the night.

For it is you, that make my sky so blue,

And when we are together, it always seems

That life is perfect, and we no longer have need for dreams.

So take me back there, and rescue me from the broken shards of time,

Bring unto me the realization, that you will always be mine.

For ours days are fleeing with the rushing wind

And I want more of ours together, before we greet our end.

this poem longs for the memories of the past, "upon a golden shore" and rests upon the acceptance that beauty and love are fleeting ...

Heart touching write of both contentment of what you have, what you had and what you hope to have. Very few of us are so fortunate but if your love reads this I'm sure you might be one of tose few. Well done.

Yes sir, time does move on and by us like so many street lamps on a long drive, but we move along with it and strive to survive, what else can we do...? Of course I loved the inferences to the shore, Al, as it takes very little to make me love a poem...guess I am easy...LOL! Peace bro', Ed & Rufuz

Allen the heartfelt longing in this poem has me in tears. I'm on my way to bed, and you will be in my prayers. This is an exquisite poem!
