Lead me down to misty waters, the

Tiny stream where once we stood

And listened to its peaceful voyage

Through the woodland hills, lost in

The mystery of each other, while

Random sunbeams marked our

Solitude and the scent of lilacs filled

My senses with the essence of you.

I dream of such places, yes my heart

Cries out for these memories that have

Never been, her existence the key that

Unlocks a multitude of possibilities, I

Walk there often as I look at her, though

Only seconds may have gone by, because

Time loses all meaning if her dark eyes

Happen to glance my way, and I am lost.

Meet me beneath that willow tree, the one

Whose limbs touch the dew-soaked grass

Oh meet me there when the moon is alive

With borrowed light to bear witness to the

Secrets we might share, your face against

My shoulder, arms around each other, star

Fire promises of things eternal, there, in the

Hidden confines of softly hanging leaves.

Take my hand and dream with me…

Just mellow and gorgeous, George, and very real. I love the idea of the moon being alive with "borrowed light". This breathes. TY Kate xx

This is so nice, George. I love this and it reads very well, no confusion on the meaning of your words, just clean and honest poetry. I really liked these lines:

Random sunbeams marked our
Solitude and the scent of lilacs filled
My senses with the essence of you.

What beauty in those lines and your images throughout these verses are outstanding.
Take care,
