Liberty Lost

I was laid in the dirt

Worshipping the dust around me

Looking up to a sky

Lost in a sea of clouds

Bloody tears run down my face

As I see the body count

Written in the stars

How do so many screams

Reach nothing but deaf ears

Our liberty dragged around

Like a mop cleaning filth

Which we made

                               But blamed on others.

You are a powerful poetic voice. Your imagery enhances the meaning of your creation. Plus, your brevity of words is refreshing. Thank you, Carrie. Love and peace to you. Regis

Two home runs in one day, this is also one hell of a great write and begs the reader to look at what you are saying of the deaths of the innocent. You have done well in both these works today.
