My shadow stalks me

And flattens me into

A one dimensional person

I’ll wave my arms

For rescue

But you won’t come

I need saving

But appear as a stiff column

But only the shadow of one

And only my shadows know me

But save me?

No, I have to strip them away

From my skin

To lose myself

In the delusions of a victim

                                        To do that.

Some people think they write poetry. Some people write poetry. You write poetry. This is very soul grasping. Thank you, Carrie. Love and peace. Regis

Very insightful. I never thought of a shadow in that way before.

This is one of your best and I love the vivid flattened and pillared images so real to the mind. Great work of art.
