There is an infinity of words
within poems waiting to be born;
they're attached by umbilical cords
throbbing with creativity's ink.
At the end of the third trimester,
the poem moves into position;
held firm by place by contracting thought,
which will guide the words out of the pen.
The poet cries out in her struggle;
nothing worthwhile is without pain;
suddenly, there's a rush of fluid;
a newly born poem comes to life.
The moment is forever captured
when they are guided to sheets of white;
the poet laughs as the tiny words
make a permanent mark on the page.

|Hey, This is really neat and so true. I could just vision my struggles in writting a poem on occasion. Thanks for sharing.

|First class. It shows your lyric talent. Keep them like this and then, too, try as many Senryus as can. Those I have read are very much a genre of your own.

|OMG sis, you have captured the purest poetic writing style. the words are conceived in the poets mind, and the in the third trimester the miracle of poetic birth occurs. I like this one sis, it is touching to the soul. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love, peace, & (((HUGS))), Barbie
