(this is a poem originally written on May 28, 2001. I was one month away from the finalization of a divorce, which i didn't want. It is meant to describe the realization that "I" had been the one who had caused the divorce by my actions, my lack of actions and other things. I had gone away from "our" marriage long before it came to the point of divorce.)

How long did I Hide?
What can I Say?

Maybe you Know
When I went Away.

I don't Remember.
Maybe You Do.

How long did I Hide?
When Did I Go Away?
What Did I Do?
I don't Remember.
I Know that You Do.

Was It Before?

or

Was It After?

Was It Always?

I don't Remember.

I'm sure that You Do.

Blame is behind you. And remember, it always takes "two." Now get out there and find your other purpose, because we are born alone, and we die alone. What matters Bro. Steve, is what we do with the ones who, if they outlive us, will keep us in memory long after our spirits depart this place.

So, you GO Boy; it's time to get your life back.

Sadly many leave a relationship long before it ends in paper work. Making such a decision is extremely difficult and painful. Guess there is deep pain no matter what role you assume in the ending of a relationship. Great exploration write.

oh yes you can be sure she does. this shows much insight, which is unusual during the pain
