Geese glide over the mirrored glass
A boy steals a kiss from his favorite lass
Snow hides acorns stored for the winter
A lonely figure kicks up sand like a sprinter
Our nationís flag caresses the white pole
Overlooks the Atlantic along our stroll

White clapboard houses surrounded by black shutters
A strip of beach without the usual clutter
Rocky shorelines encircle white houses
A gentle breeze captivates and arouses
Two parkas convex in shape
Define lovers walking along the cape

Cumulus clouds arise to meet the sky
Signals a Noríeaster with winds howling high
White caps form on once placid water
Lobster boats hurry to avoid the slaughter
Night falls as temperatures drop
Cuddled in wool blankets with stories to swap

Sunbeams cut through the sheer curtain
Morning again to be certain
A storm passes over our New England coast
Normalcy returns like a gracious host
Pristine sand blown onto the ledge
Another day in paradise at the waterís edge
