Sunlight reaching casually
beneath the clouds
Fingers of warmth
wrapping around coy land
And the sky breaks in a flash of glory
and it embodies all that will not die
All that will live forever
in the memory of someone’s heart
beating upon another's chest.
And those golden rays reach around me and squeeze the beauty out
And I cannot say a word,
but my mouth opens in a gasp
I can feel my tears inside me
I have a fish tank for a soul
Filled with sun dappled
pools of overwhelming
and I swim there, stunning
My body cutting through
the smooth emotions,
leaving a ripple in my wake
And my heart is open for someone to fill it
Fill it so that all the love inside
has no where to go
but to spill onto the life I have created.
To let life cascade down on me
I swam through those crystalline waters
and felt untouchable
I threw myself beneath a pounding waterfall and I bore the weight
that tried to push me down
And I stood there, strong,
my strength mixing with all that fell upon me.
I stepped back;
receded to the other side,
and watched through that glass curtain, wondering what my life would be like if I could stay there always
Watching through a diamond shield.
But before I could be tempted
I plunged myself once again into the flow
And I feel its weight still
A constant force upon my heart
Water and fire fill me,
burning and flowing consistently.
Drown in me
And let me burn your heart with mine
Feel the warmth of my tears upon your chest
And love me, as I would love you.
Do not hold back your heart from mine
Drown in me
