these days
i try not to drink
i try not to think
i try not to sink
nor blink
'cause in the wink
of an eye
i might cry
or i might die
these days
i just try
to get by

these days
i'm happy not sad
i smile 'cause i'm glad
for all that i've had
lonesome a tad
but that ain't bad
could be worse
i could still be livin' that curse
these days
i've got me a new verse
not goin' in reverse

these days
i pass my time
with rythmn & ryhme
bein' sublime
appreciate what's mine
and the new things i find
not drinkin' whiskey nor wine
and that's fine
these days
i'm not out of my mind
my Life feels kind

these days
may pass their ways
nuthin' ever stays
but that's OK's
for now i just plays
and accept the come what mays
oh, i remember the yesterdays
but these days
i know they done gone aways
and these days
that be OK's

these days
are these days
and i'm happy they be
here for me to see
without a blink
and without a drink
these days
i praise
these days
i prays
and that's OK's
with me

Steve, another wonderful heartfelt rhyme with superb rhythm. You are able to capture and express such grace in difficult subjects.

There is a powerful introspection and assertion in this creation, Steve. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you. Regis
