Look at the grain at your feet

That I have gleaned for you

Forgive my weathered hands

That will stone it into flour

I will make you herbed loaves

Cakes filled with sweetmeats

I lay the grain at your feet

As I lay at your feet

Along with my humbled heart

Mercy on this daughter of Syria

I am Ruth, Moabite, daughter of Naomi

A solid write, Linda. My mother's middle name is Naomi and her sister, my deceased Aunt who meant so much to me, was named Ruth. They were very close. Naomi is a family name on my mother's side, passed down. It's my middle name as well. So as a child, I took great interest in the book of Ruth. Wonderful, poem. ~~Nordette
