the past
will never pass

and maybe
if i had less
history
we would have
had more

but in the end
i am what i've done
and the stain
on my face
won't wash

hands that once
held my eyes
now turns the page
of our story

and in my bed
i clench to
your ghost
and pray not
to dream you
while the memory of
your eyes
break the dawn
in my blood stained
world

Plaintive write. "...And maybe if I would have had less history, we would have had more..." Its true that we put up barriers because we feel undeserving of love. But we have to change the movie in our head--find a way to wash the stain clean. This is something we can't do on our own. If you continue to carry the guilt, you will pass it onto your little girl. Peace...
