the past
will never pass

and maybe
if i had less
history
we would have
had more

but in the end
i am what i've done
and the stain
on my face
won't wash

hands that once
held my eyes
now turns the page
of our story

and in my bed
i clench to
your ghost
and pray not
to dream you
while the memory of
your eyes
break the dawn
in my blood stained
world

Peace...
