Taste

I feel them,
Deep and flavorful,
Words on my tongue,
I taste the color of your name...

Ah the sweet and tangy taste of some!
The bittersweet,
The burnt sugar of a few,
The aftertaste of the bitter-

I taste your name on my tongue,
Like fine smooth chocolate,
I savor the flavor,
And think of you...

I love walking in the deep woods,
The breeze blowing sweetly,
The fragrance of spring is in the air,
I whisper you name,
And feel you here.

My heart warms,
And my lips tingle,
The taste of your name,
Lingering there-

Out of the morning mist,
You come,
Did you hear me calling?
I am here love,

Waiting for you,
Feeling the taste of your name,
Savoring the sweet sound,
It makes on my tongue…

Oh, Retta... this is a wondrous metaphorical celebration... such images and visuals. It tucks into the psyche and causes mind-smiles, indeed! I loved this line: "Feeling the taste of your name," and that metaphor woven throughout this very graceful piece. Great stuff! katy xox.
