When you don't know
What to say
And the words won't come
And you find yourself
Standing side by side
With someone you have
Admired for a long time
Someone who has inspired you
In ways words can't describe.
When your best friend
Stand side by side with this person
Feel a friendly embrace
When your best friend
Tells the person
You have only dreamt about meeting
That you are about to faint
And the gesure is a kindly pat on the back
And a friendly hug,
When you find yourself
Surrounded by not one person
You have really admired
But two and all that comes out is
Uh, Uh, Uh,
And you wonder why all of
The sudden you have lost the ability to speak
Just maybe you were star struck....

Oh, boy, do I ever know this from experience! I have cried when I met Loretta Lynn, Roy Clark, Betty Jean Robinson, and a few others, and I also got severely tongue-tied, but I am glad to say I have never passed out! LOL (Karla did, upon meeting "Meba RacIntire"! LOL She got her name backwards, and then went down for the count! LOL Reba was then patting her face, trying to make her come to! LOL) Cute write; glad you got to meet one of your favorites! Well done!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

LOL--how I know this one alllll too well. I was the same way meeting Vince Gill...I knew what he sounded like but not what he looked like--when I met him, it was at a Joe Diffie concert, and Vince was wearing a Reba MeEntire T-shirt...I love Reba, and asked him where he'd gotten it. He told me Reba had given it to him...I'm like, "Yeah, RIGHT!" He asked me if I knew the song, "Oklahoma Swing." I said, "Yeah, some guy named Vince Gill and Reba sing it." Joe Diffie is standing behind me (unbeknown to me) and Joe says, "Karla...that's Vince Gill." LOL OMG, I wanted to DIE!!!!!! LOL Vince was really gracious about the whole thing, me, I wanted the pavement to open up and swallow me whole. LOL
Cute write--and congratulations on meeting Amy!
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)
