| Well I for one hovel at no man's feet. Yes there is a new Pope not God and no why did they dig up the mummy? Best left where he was lain. But fear what is here on this earth. Not and I suppose that many people get really sick at what is done in God's name not his decree. The bible says that there are false prophets and the deceivers will use every trick in the book. Including but most especially the media. Because when they have a bad news week they make the news themselves. But they too will one day find themselves at the throne of judgement and answer to God for what they do. That I am sure of. |

The mixing of ancient Roman/Greek theologies with the teachings of the early church to gain political control was all about man's ego, thirst for power, and greed--not about God. The people of Rome and other conquered nations were in the habit of worshiping images, and the new mongrel "church" as established after the deaths of the Apostles by the power hungry and solidified by Constantine in his frenzy to take over the world, fed the people familiar fare to woo them.
To boil it down, this is how one person who gets off on deceiving others explained this strategy to me, "If you lead the sucker down a familiar path, he won`t catch on when you lead him into a trap."
And so many have been trapped by this tradition of idol worship, but ultimately, as Jude says, man is worshipping itself instead of God.
Pride remains the root of our sickness. We refuse to look at ourselves and laugh. We'd rather laugh at the other fellow. We spend far more time shining light on the misdeeds of those around us than looking in the mirror at pimples on our own faces. Few are willing to open a vein and bleed for the sake of moving higher. TRASK,
Although the Pope was a great man, he was not God. He reached across barriers of religion and nationalities, that's what made him great. HOWEVER: The Bible clearly states that we are not to worship idols or graven images--the Church is rife with them. I've fallen into this trap, too--worshiping celebrities, money...it is powerful writing like this, bare-bones and to the truth, that will bring us back to God. Thank you, Friend, for leading us on the path toward righteousness!

I agree my dear friend, that man should not have
false images or false gods. The pope was a man of
God, but noone should worship him...worship only
God. He's the only one that can save us.
